CLATA has been nominated!

The Chicago Latino Theater Alliance (CLATA) is thrilled to announce that we have been nominated for five Joseph Jefferson Awards for their production of Tebas Land, which was produced in partnership with the National Museum of Mexican Art and as a part of Destinos: 5th Chicago International Latino Theater Festival.

The nominations include Short Run-Production, Short Run-Director - Juan Parodi, Short Run-Performer in a Principal Role - Esteban Schemberg, Short Run-Performer in a Principal Role - Tommy Rivera-Vega, and Short Run-Artistic Specialization - Daphne Agosin. These nominations are a testament to the hard work and passion of everyone involved in Tebas Land and the Chicago Latino Theater Alliance.

We are honored and grateful for this recognition of the talent and dedication of our team. This is a true reflection of the hard work and passion that goes into every production, and we are proud to be a part of such a vibrant and thriving theater community in Chicago. Many congratulations to our colleagues at Aguijón Theater (4 Nominations) and UrbanTheater Company (2 Nominations), and all the Latine artists nominated for their hard work.

The Joseph Jefferson Awards, named after famous 19th century American actor Joseph Jefferson, have been presented annually since 1968 and are widely considered to be the premier theater awards in Chicago to recognize outstanding theatrical productions and performances.The 2021-2022 non-equity winners of the Joseph Jefferson Awards will be announced at a ceremony on March 27th, 2023 at Park West. The Chicago Latino Theater Alliance is proud to be a part of this celebration of theatrical excellence in Chicago and looks forward to the awards ceremony.
